After Volkswagen Polo And Vento, Ameo Also Receives The GT Line Variant
After introducing the GT line in its best selling hatchback and premium sedan Polo and Vento respectively, the German car maker Volkswagen has updated the compact SUV Ameo with GT Line series. The information regarding this has also been upgraded on its official website. The Volkswag Ameo GT Line Diesel has been offered with the price tag of Rs. 9.99 lakh, whereas the price of petrol GT Line Ameo is yet to be announced by the company. It is however expected to be offered with the price tag of Rs. 7.99 lakh. The new GT Line Ameo receives cosmetic changes along with Sunset Red paint color treatment.
Mechanically, the Ameo GT Line continues to be offered with 1.5 litre turbo diesel TDI and 1.0 litre petrol engine that boosts the power of 108 bhp and 75 bhp respectively, with transmission duties performed by five speed manual and seven speed DSG automatic transmission system. On the exterior front it receives ORVMs, sporty decals on the doors, blacked out roof, chrome lid spoiler, sixteen inch Portago alloy wheels. However, it misses the features like GTI inspired honeycomb mesh grille, and the set of new bumpers at the rear and front ends.
As far as features inside the cabin are concerned, it does not receive any new feature except the features offered in Highline Plus variant, consisting of multi-functional steering wheel, auto dimming IRVM, cruise control, touchscreen system and many more. Although, the Ameo did not succeeded in enjoying the expected success, but still it performance can be considered successful due to its late entrance in the segmen,t which was dominated by the players like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and Hyundai Xcent. Introduction of the new GT Line Ameo is regarded to lure the buyers during the festive season.
