Volkswagen Ameo launched with price tag of Rs. 5.24 lakh
Volkswagen Ameo, the first ever compact sedan from German car maker Volkswagen has finally debuted in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and going high to Rs. 7.05 lakh (ex-showroom, New Developed). Currently the compact sedan has been launched in petrol variant which is energized with 1.2 litre petrol engine and mated with five speed manual gear box system.
Addressing the launch of Ameo Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said "Today is a very special day for Volkswagen in India, as we introduce our first ever made-for-India carline, Volkswagen Ameo," Moving ahead Mr. Mayer said, “The Ameo underlines the company's philosophy of offering the best of technology and safety standards packaged at an attractive price”. He also said that "Through the Ameo, we are confident of cementing Volkswagen's strong presence in the compact sedan segment and further expand the Volkswagen India family,".
The diesel variant of Volkswagen Ameo is also soon going to make its debut, the exact date will however be revealed by company in few days. Ameo is first compact sedan in segment which is customized with dual front airbags and ABS as standard feature. The deliveries of car will begin from July this year.
