Audi A3 sedan launch next year, price to be below Rs 20 lakh
It is the fight for supremacy over each other that is prompting Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz to launch cars in the under Rs 25 lakh segment. Since this segment constitutes volumes, there is a possibility that whichever car maker launches a car first will have an upper hand. Out of the three Audi is aggressively preparing to expand its line up and the latest will be the sedan version of the Audi A3 hatchback. In this segment, Mercedes Benz A Class and B Class while BMW 1 Series car has already started capturing the market. As per the latest reports, the A3 sedan will also be launched in India.
Meanwhile, Audi has also decided to produce
Audi Q3 SUV in India and it is good sign for those who were thinking of buying Audi SUV as after it is produced in the country, Audi could think of a price slash which will bring as the local assembling will bring down the costs. The new sedan by Audi will be launched sometime in early next year but its test mules were caught in the lens internationally at several places and this suggests the urgency of the launch. The most striking thing about this new sedan is that it could take a price tag which could be under Rs 20 lakh. If that is the case, there are enough reasons to believe that Audi might accede to the top slot in luxury car segment following A3 sedan sales.
In order to keep the input costs at low, Audi will be assembling the A3 sedan at its Aurangabad plant and this will give it an edge over BMW and Mercedes entry level cars. The MQB platform based new car will have a front wheel drive mechanism and the higher variants will have all wheel drive variant. There will be a series of engine options including 160 bhp 1.8 L TFSi petrol and 140 bhp 2 L TDi diesel engine.
