BMW to launch BMW 3 Series GT in 2014
German car maker BMW will launch the GT model in BMW 3 Series of cars in Indian auto market during beginning of next year. The car will be brought in Indian market through completely built up route and will be assembled at company assembling plant located at Chennai. The car was unveiled during the Geneva Motors Show and is bigger than its elder sibling 3 Series. According to sources BMW will launch 3 Series GT Sedan in two variants 320d and 330d. the 320d variant will be energized with 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine whereas 330d will be powered by 3.0 litre straight six engine. Both these variants will be supported by ZF eight speed automatic transmission system for transforming power to rear wheels.
As far as changes introduced in 3 Series GT model are concerned company has carried the same interiors as adhered in the standard model but due to additional length it looks bigger. Similarly company has not made any noticeable change in the exteriors except minor changes in the rear portion.
Moving towards the price, it is speculated that because car is being in Indian market through CBU route it might be priced almost Rs. 20 lakh more than the standard # series model.
