General Motors brand Chevrolet’s Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Chevrolet Captiva faces a worldwide recall by the company as it may have problems with its steering fluid that may lead to overheat followed by fire under the bonnet. This is a preventative step taken by the company and till now there has been no reports of vehicle catching fire. General Motors has regarded this check-up as ‘Massive Improvement Campaign’. This recall will probably affect over 15,000 Captivas across the globe that has the manufacturing date between the period of 2nd October 2009 and 21st April 2011.

The danger of car catching fire emerges when the vehicle is left on the manual mode, which is the first gear, for a while that causes the steering fluid to heat up and may results into fire in the engine section, if not noticed. Thank God! Such problem is not reported in India so far.

General Motors has taken the initiative to fix this problem within no time, although no such complaints have been received by the US based auto giant. If the problem in found in any of the vehicle the company will be replacing the power steering fluid cooler at no extra cost.
