Chevrolet Spark launch soon, Sail to come next month
The Maruti Alto 800 is in and stealing the show leaving other small cars almost spell bound. The other small cars too seem too feeble to retaliate but Chevrolet Spark seems to head the uprising against the Alto 800. The small car new Spark launch has been reportedly scheduled on October 25 and the car will then be the prime rival of the Maruti’s to-be second best selling car. The industry is also abuzz with reports that the Chevrolet Sail hatchback aka U VA will be launched early next month.
The Chevrolet Sail UVA will be launched in 1.2 L petrol and 1.3 L Multijet diesel engine. The diesel and petrol engines and aggressive price tag will add the Sail in the B Plus segment where it will have to compete with the likes of Hyundai i20, Maruti Swift and Ford Figo. Chevrolet is expected to offer some very striking features in the Sail such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD etc.

Coming to the to-be upgraded Spark, it is said to step up the prospects of the car as well because the American car maker has planned a serious facelift for the car. The new car by Chevrolet is expected to carry on with the same price tag for the time being so as to offer a lot of new things to its car buyers at the same price. Also this could be another reason for car buyers to select new Spark and not Alto 800.

A lot of exterior and interior design changes have been proposed on the new Spark to make it look sporty and different from the current generation. Larger air dam, new grille with bow tie badge resting at the middle of the strip on grille rather than the bonnet. New fog lamps and bumpers to match to the appearance. In all, the front looks heavy like the Chevrolet Beat and poses as if it is some sedan front or so. There is also chrome work on the grille giving it an aesthetic uplift. Thus the small bug shaped car has been made to look more aggressive and up market rather than too docile and mundane as earlier.
The new Spark will have six shades and there are a couple of additions to the color palette. On the inside, the car has new upholstery and a lot of other visible changes starting from the door pad to the door knobs and the steering wheel. The same 1 L petrol engine powers it and it will continue to be offered in the LPG variant.
