Chevrolet Trax launch in South Korea on Feb 25

The compact SUV market is fast catching up and so companies are trying their best to launch cars in this segment one after the other. In India, the Ford Ecosport and the Maruti XA Alpha are highly awaited but in South Korea, the market is soon to be rocked by Chevrolet Trax SUV. The launch date of this SUV is February 25. This SUV is also expected to enter the Indian market as it has the potential of getting hit instantly. Meanwhile, the segment is under the dominion of Renault Duster that is fast weeping SUV sales to its side. However, the newly launched Tata Safari Storme is also getting response besides the Mahindra XUV 500.

The Chevrolet Trax SUV is a compact SUV and it will soon be launched in South Korea. The 1.4 L petrol engine powered car will go on sales in the new destination and the American car maker believes that it will have tremendous response by the Koreans. Another variant that could find a place in the model line of the Trax is the 1.7 L turbocharged diesel. But the chances are rare that this engine could be included in the line up. Although, it is almost sure that the SUV’s diesel variant will be a hit in India where diesel SUV and those returning high mileage are more than welcome.  

In all there will be five models of the new Trax that will be available in Korea and the top model will have lot many features that will help it compete with the existing SUVs in Korea. Meanwhile, this launch has increased the anticipation of the Ecosport as the Indian market eagerly waits for the SUV. Sources inform that the Ecosport booking have begun in India and some Ford dealers have commenced taking bookings for the EcoSport SUV.
