Chevrolet Trax SUV launch in September

The compact SUV segment in Indian is getting ready for a big show. The Renault Duster, Premier Rio 1.3 L multijet are already in and enjoying the new turf by playing shots over the boundary line. But the turf is soon to have new entrants. The Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha are nearing launch and another contender is from the American car maker – Chevrolet Trax. This mini SUV by Chevrolet closely resembles Duster or the Ecosport in shape but has a bowtie at the front. The Chevrolet mini SUV Trax is believed to be priced competitively and the launch plans for India are still under discussion.

The new SUV by Chevrolet will make a world appearance at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in September and after that there will be a series of launches in various parts of the globe including India. The four door compact SUV will measure just over 4 meters and will be placed prominently across the globe as there is a rise in demand for SUVs. Besides, the car maker will also be making things easier for the Trax launch by launching it at an unbelievably low price. This will be just the same strategy that Chevrolet has adopted with the Chevrolet Beat and Chevrolet Spark car.

As per the reports the Trax will have petrol and diesel engine options and the petrol motor will have 1.4 L, 1.6 L options while the diesel motor will be that of 1.7 L which is more than what the Duster or the Rio has under the hood. In addition of large space and a seating for seven people, the Trax will have a lot of safety features such as airbags, ABS, EBD and traction control besides hill assist.
