Chevrolet Trax SUV: India launch expected
Get ready for another small SUV! This time around it’s General Motors that would bring in a new small SUV. The new offering from GM would be called Chevrolet Trax, which was announced sometime ago. The launch date hasn’t been revealed so far, but rumors suggest that this small SUV will be launched very soon. Trax will make its first appearance at the Paris Motor Show this year.
When we first look at the Chevrolet Trax, the car gives a feel as if Chevrolet Beat has been amplified. However, the muscular lines with sporty look give Trax a very macho look. On the inside, the new Chevrolet Trax would be blessed with numerous sophisticated features, like elegant instrumental cluster that comprise of digital readouts and analogue display. The well-done seating arrangement makes sure that the passengers get a comfortable ride in the SUV. The 358 litres of boot space is capable of adjusting so much of luggage during your long trips.
The safety department of this small SUV will also be well-resourced and will be fitted with six airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability program, anti lock braking system, traction control and electronic brake force distribution system.
Under the bonnet, the new Chevrolet Trax SUV would be offered with powerful diesel engine option. The European version of the SUV comprise of petrol variant will feature 1.4L turbocharged engine and 1.6L dynamic motor. On the other hand, the diesel variant of the SUV will feature 1.7Litre of diesel motor that would generate 130Ps of peak power and 300Nm of maximum torque is expected to be present in the Indian version of the car.
The launch of Chevrolet Trax in India will make way for Chevrolet in the SUV segment of the Indian car bazaar. However, a tough competition is expected from Ford EcoSport, which is also likely to be launched very soon. Apart from the Trax, General Motors is all set to launch Chevrolet Sail and Chevrolet Enjoy this year.
