Ford EcoBoost 1 litre engine could deliver 177bhp power!

The Ford’s engineering panel has proven their talent with the creation of powerful and fuel efficient ‘Ford 1 litre EcoBoost engine, currently comes equipped in all new Ford EcoSport SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) and various other performance variants from the company. This engine produces two levels (123bhp and 99bhp) of power, debuted with the 2012 Ford Foucs. While producing the maximum power of 125hp, this engine results in ultra-low carbon dioxide emissions and combined fuel economy of 56.5mpg. The Ford’s smallest 1 litre EcoBoost engine was developed by the powertrain engineers from Dagenham and Dunton in UK.

Now, company is working to install an electric supercharger to the current three-cylinder engine that will deliver an exceptional power output of 177bhp. The performance and speed conscious car lovers will defiantly go crazy with this innovation. The Indian variant of Ford EcoSport is expected to come powered with the 1 litre EcoBoost engine that will churn out the maximum power of 123hp.

This engine will be coupled with a 5 speed manual transmission. On the other side, its 1.5 diesel engine develops a peak power of 90bhp with improved fuel economy. Company is planning to install the EcoBoost engines globally on the Ford Fiesta including some other top-end models. Gradually, Ford will replace all the non-turbo 1.6 litre petrol engines with the new 1.0 litre engine in all the Ford models across the world. According to the company, customers won’t experience the basic difference between these two engines, until they won’t have a test drive with it.
