Ford Ecosport bookings open next month

The official launch of much awaited compact SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) Ford Ecosport by Ford India has been set for next month. Already the company has started the displaying of the beast at shopping malls across the country. And now, the Ford Ecosport bookings will be commenced in early next month. The company could soon announce about Ecosport bookings amount and in first phase it will be available pan-India.

The American car major is anticipating a huge demand for the Ecosport SUV and production of the vehicle will be hiked after meet the demand. The company is producing this global brand at its Chennai based facility. Recently, the Ford Ecosport media drive has been started in Goa and technical specifications of the vehicle have also been disclosed. The new beast by Ford India will be made available in four variants i.e. Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Plus along with three engine options like 1.5L petrol, 1.5L diesel and 1L EcoBoost petrol.

Its 1.5L petrol engine generates max power of 110bhp along with peak torque of 140Nm. It is mated to a 5 speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. With 5 speed manual gearbox it offers mileage of 15.8 kmpl while the automatic transmission version provides 15.6 kmpl of mileage. The 1.5 TDCi diesel engine of the vehicle churns out max power of 89bhp of power and top torque of 204 Nm with a mileage of 22.7 kmpl. The company will offer 1L Ecoboost engine with only the Titanium and Titanium Plus variants which are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and generates max power of 122.5 bhp and peak torque of 170 Nm. The Ford Ecosport mileage for 1.L Ecoboost engine model is 18.9 kmpl.
