Ford EcoSport debuts in Argentina, India awaits

Ford EcoSport, one of the most awaited compact Sports Utility Vehicle in the Indian market, was recently launched in Argentina. Though earlier it was expected that the EcoSport will be first launched in the Indian and Chinese markets following its debut in Brazil. But the American car maker has decided to bring Argentina up the order in its list before any other emerging country.

The new EcoSport is offered in two engine options in the Argentina including a 1.6L petrol and a 2.0 liter petrol engine. The 1.6 L petrol engine of EcoSport delivers a peak power of 110 bhp, while the high powered 2.0L petrol engine generates a peak power of 143 bhp. Interestingly, the highly efficient 1.0L EcoBoost turbo petrol engine, which has been considered a main attraction of EcoSport line-up in India and around the world, is not a part of its line-up in Argentina.

On the other hand, in India, the EcoSport model will be launched in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol version, as mentioned above, will come loaded with a revolutionary 1.0L ecoboost engine, while the diesel one will be coming powered by a 1.5L diesel engine. Now coming back to the Argentina bound model, the 1.6L variant is coming equipped with a range of advanced features including ABS (Antilock Braking System), dual front airbags, audio system with Bluetooth, chilled glove box etc. The 2.0L variant is one step ahead in terms features as it comes equipped with additional features like ESP (Electronic Stability Program), grade assist system, traction control, Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), etc.

Moreover, a freestyle variant of the SUV is offered with features like 16″ alloy wheels, six speakers, leather wrapped steering and rear parking sensors. The four variants of the car (S, SE, Freestyle and Titanium) are offered in the price segment of 108,870 Argentine Peso to 129,700 Peso (around Rs. 12.21 lakh to 14.55 lakh).
