Ford EcoSport launch in a couple of weeks
It has been a long time that Ford India has been teasing its fan with EcoSport Crossover SUV. The car maker introduced Ford EcoSport SUV at the 11th Auto Expo in New Delhi in Jan 2012. Since then, its fans have been waiting for the launch. But now, it seems like the EcoSport will soon hit the showrooms here. The confirmation behind this is that recently the demo EcoSport was seen at a Ford Dealership in Delhi. Also a demo car arrived in Mumbai as well. This shows that the car might be launched in India in next couple of weeks. Apparently, this SUV will come along with an approximate price tag of Rs. 9 lakh and would be competing with cars like Renault Duster, Mahindra Quanto and Premier Rio.
The major highlight of the Ford EcoSport is that it comes under the length of 4 meters, which means it will be a small car in India. Along with this, the 1.0-Litre EcoBoost engine under the hood is another major highlight here. However, the diesel variant of the car hasn’t been confirmed right now. but if the auto major did arrive with the diesel variant of Ford EcoSport, it might feature 1.5-Litre TDCI engine, which would churn out 90BHP of power and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines will be coupled with the standard five-speed manual transmission.
Apart from these features, Ford EcoSport will also come with very sporty and athletic exteriors complimented with elegant interiors. The huge storage space along with roomy ambiance makes this SUV very alluring for an Indian consumer.Ford EcoSport has already been launched in Argentina, South America and Brazil, and if we believe the rumors in the market, March will be the month for India.
