Ford EcoSport launch this March-April
The onset of this year is fine with Chevrolet Sail recently added to the list. However, the most sensational launch this year will be Ford Ecosport. As per the latest information that also reiterates already available information is that the Ecosport launch will be in March this year. It is also possible that Ford India could also schedule it to April first week to assess and incorporate possible changes in the price of the car commensurate with the Union Budget provisions declared by the finance minister during the budget speech on February 28.
Nob doubt, this latest update has come as a sign of relief for all those who have wished for Ecosport launch since its unveil at the Auto Expo last year. Since then there were little updates about the car except its launch in Brazil and Indonesia besides other destinations. But all the time India has been desperately waiting for it. It as highly expected during the festive season and as per insiders, it could have been launched at this time last year but following the unclear stand on taxing diesel cars by the government, the launch could have been delayed to this year. Now as well, the car maker will be launching it once the government announces Budget and clears its stand on various issues related to cars in India.
It is also known that the production of Ecosport has not started at the Chennai plant and thus it will take another month for the car maker to fix the final production related issues and then only the car will hit production. Meanwhile, the car has undergone certifications and ARAI approvals besides others approvals and is all set to hit production. To be available in diesel and petrol, the Ecosport will have Renault Duster as its prime rival besides, Premier Rio that has also introduced the 1.3 L multijet diesel engine powered car.
