Ford EcoSport launch: Tweet hints a big announcement coming
There are whispers in the corridors and something big is coming from Ford India. It is no doubt, the Ford Ecosport. In a striking revelation, Ford India has said in a Tweet that they are all set for a big announcement and it is undoubtedly the launch date of EcoSport SUV. Considered to be one of the most anticipated and the most awaited launch since 2012, the EcoSport SUV is also supposed to change the fate of its car maker. A compact SUV by make, the new Ford car is all set to rock a segment that is sizzling hot with everyone talking about it. Though its rival car Renault Duster has captured most of it but still this car has the guts to prove its mettle. Expected to be in the price range of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh, the Ford Ecosport launch is now round the corner.
Meanwhile, Ford dealers have commenced Ford Ecosport bookings in advance in major cities. As per recent news updates, the booking amount of Ecosport SUV is Rs 50k and dealers are informing the customers that the car will be launched sometime in May or June but the recent Tweet suggests an early launch. Notably, the Ecosport has passed all tests and has got all approvals, ARAI approval etc and has also undergone test production at the Ford plant. What is keeping Ford to launch the car is the upcoming Budget and the budget announcements that will in a way impact the price of the car. This is the reason why Mahindra E2O launch is delayed.
The SUV by Ford will be the entry level sports utility car in India and the car maker is in a process to make it look more and more affordable. Hoped to have petrol and diesel avatars, the car will be an excellent package of power, performance and mileage. The 1L EcoBoost engine that has proved itself worldwide in terms of mileage and power delivery despite of its small size will be a wonder to see under the hood of this car. The diesel motor will be borrowed from Ford Fiesta and these two engine options will cumulatively make the Ecosport a value buy in the segment.
