Ford Ecosport launched
The Ford Ecosport has set itself on a yet another journey to success and this time it is in Columbia. After proving its mettle in Brazil and Argentina, which are so called its land of origin as well, the Ecosport SUV’s launch in the South American country is seen as a major move. However, the India launch of the car is all set to be a number game and Ford expects the Ecosport to sell in huge numbers. Meanwhile, the already launched rivals viz. Renault Duster and Mahindra Quanto which are supposed to have arrived at the right time, are doing great. Especially the Duster is setting newer benchmarks in terms of sales.
In terms of launch, Ecosport will be a late comer and the latest reports suggest that it will have a debut in India in January next year. Meanwhile, the China launch has also been utmost successful and now the car maker has all eyes on India launch. Prior to India, there could be a Chile and Mexico launches as well. In Columbia, the new Ford SUV has copied the same Brazilian configuration and engine options and is available in the range of 1.6L to 2 L capacity engine options.
The Indian Ecosport will have the most coveted 1 L Ecoboost engine beside the 1.5 L TDCi diesel motor option. India has already seen the performance of the 1.5 L engine which is doing its duty so well under the hood of the
Ford Fiesta. Thus the new Ford car in India promises performance and mileage hand in hand and it is believed that the petrol motor will also be highly frugal and this will be the sole SUV that will have a large number of takers of the petrol version as well. The Ecosport price in India is expected to land somewhere around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.
