Ford Ecosport launched in India at Rs 5.59 lakh
The American car maker Ford has finally launched the much anticipated compact SUV, Ford Ecosport in India today at starting price of Rs 5.59 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). The company has offered the new compact SUV to Indian customers in 10 trims including 4 variants of 1.5L petrol engine model, 4 variants of 1.5L diesel engine model and 2 variants of much loved 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine model. The base variant of the 1.5L diesel engine model is priced at Rs 6.69 lakh while the base variant of 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine model is priced at Rs 7.89 lakh. Ford India has offered the Ecosport SUV at very competitive price range and the beast will directly have competition with Renault Duster, Maruti Ertiga and Mahindra Quanto. The company is aiming about 5000 units of bookings. The deliveries of the booked Ecosport's have also been commenced.

The Ford Ecosport 1.5L petrol engine model comes in 4 variants like Ecosport 1.5 Ambiente, Ecosport 1.5 Trend, Ecosport 1.5 Titanium and Ecosport 1.5 Ti Titanium AT which are priced at Rs 5.59 lakh, Rs 6.49 lakh, Rs 7.51 lakh and Rs 8.45 lakh respectively. Meanwhile the 1.5L diesel engine model is also available in same four variants like Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Plus which are priced at Rs 6.69 lakh, Rs 7.61 lakh, Rs 8.62 lakh Rs and 8.99 lakh. On other hand, the very well admired Ecosport 1.0L petrol engine model comes in two variants like Titanium and Titanium Plus which are priced at Rs 7.89 lakh and Rs 8.29 lakh respectively. All prices are as per ex-showroom Delhi.

Ford Ecosport 1.5L petrol model comes loaded with a 1.5L, 1499 cc diesel engine that generates max power of 112 PS at 6300 rpm along with peak torque of 140 NM at 4400 rpm. It is available with both manual and automatic transmission system choices. Meanwhile, the diesel trim of the Ecosport SUV has a 1.5L, 1498 cc diesel power train under the hood that provides max power of 91 PS at 3750 rpm along with top torque of 204 NM at 2000-2750 rpm. The much popular Ecosport 1.0L model is loaded with a 1.0L, 999 cc EcoBoost engine that promises to generate max power of 125 PS at 6000 rpm along with peak torque of 170 NM at 1400-4500 rpm. In Indian auto market it is the first compact SUV Ford India and is expected to have tremendous response from customers.
