Ford EcoSport official showcase in New Delhi and Mumbai
Here comes the Ford EcoSport in its live form. India had the first official glimpse of the car ahead of its launch at the Infiniti Mall in Mumbai and at City Mall in New Delhi where it is showcased as part of the Ford Ecosport Urban Discoveries campaign. Though this is not the launch but this is the official unveil before the launch as one can see it, one can touch it but cannot instantly buy it. For buying the Ecosport one has to book it a dealer and it will be delivered once it is launched. May be in next two months time. The Ecosport price is expected to be around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh and the most striking thing is that its price are unaffected by the recent budget provisions in which big SUVs were taxed more.
The Ecosport will be on display at these two major cities till March 17th and then there will also be a series of cities in which the car will be showcased at places where the youth flock in large numbers. Notably, this showcase is part of the Urban Discoveries campaign that the car maker has launched sometime back and this campaign invites entries from people who will then be exploring their city and finding some unique thing about it. Some selected teams will be given Ecosport which they will take it to work on weekdays and will use it to explore their city on the weekends. Then based on the Discoveries entries by the teams and their following on social networking sites, a team will be declared by a team of judges and the team lead will get an Ecosport while the team mates will get a chance to win international holiday packages.
In all the car will be displayed at 12 major cities that include all metros and some prominent cities that are nearing the status of being metros. Meanwhile, the Ecosport launch is just round the corner and in all possibility it will be launched in the first week of April. It is noteworthy that being a compact SUV, the Ecosport will be competing with Renault Duster and to an extent with Mahindra Quanto. Experts believe that the car will have greater chances of a win win situation in India as people are anxiously waiting for a new SUV in this segment.
