Ford Ecosport price could be similar to Fiesta sedan
A question that has been doing rounds is that what will be the price of the recently unveiled Ford Ecosport SUV. As per recent reports, the new Ford SUV could be priced similarly as the Ford Fiesta sedan. If this happens we can expect the same surge in sales as that was witnessed for the new Ford Fiesta lately. The Ford Ecosport Crossover SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 8.5 to Rs 9 lakh and is expected to be available in May-June this year.

The Ford Ecosport is an under four meter SUV that is very popular in Brazil and has been in production since 2003. The compact SUV is expected to revolutionize the Indian mini SUV market that has been in domination of Premier Rio. The reports that the new Ford SUV in India will be priced similar to the sedan sibling on which it is based, has give fuel to the anticipation for the car.

The exciting news reportedly came in an interview with Ford India’s Marketing Director Nigel Wark on the sidelines of the unveiling of the Ford Ecosport. Though the interaction just hinted on the pricing but it has proved to be lot more important in further pushing the anticipation for the new mini SUV. The Ecosport built on the Ford Fiesta’s platform is expected to have a 120 bhp motor with a torque of 170Nm. On the other hand the diesel powertrain could be 1.5 Liter TDCI unit that produces 90 Bhp and 200 Nm of torque. The small sized SUV is expected to be packed with ultimate safety and comfort features that will make it a perfect catch for those aspiring to have an SUV and do not want to spend more than a sedan. In addition to this, Ford will be targeting the younger generation of buyers.
