Ford Ecosport spied in China, could arrive in India earlier than mid-2012
The Ford Ecosport has made headlines at the Auto Expo and it seems to create history in India soon. Raising the anticipation further, compact SUV was spotted during a road test in China. The spied version looks more like the Ford Ecosport concept launched at the Auto Expo. Interestingly, the Ford Exosport SUV thus spotted was almost production ready. So we can expect the Ford Ecosport launch in India sooner than expected. The Ford Ecosport price is expected to be in the range of Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.

Notably, Ford India has triggered the compact SUV war in India with the announcement of the launch of Ford Ecosport at the Auto Expo in New Delhi. The turf that has been dominated by Premier Rio till now seems to have new entrants now. Maruti’s new SUV Maruti XA Alpha is also in the race but it is expected to be price higher.

Looking at the pictures of the spied version of the Ford Ecosport, it seems that it is a road test and was under little camouflage. It has more or less the same headlamps, chrome garnishing apart from the rear lights and the styling. Thus it is time to keep the fingers crossed and if the same Ford Ecosport that was launched at the Auto Expo hits production believe it or not but it will rock.

The Ecosport is expected to be available in diesel and petrol versions. However, Ford is reassessing the viability of the launch of a petrol avatar of the Ford Ecosport. The Ford Ecosport will be powered by a 1L three cylinder engine while the diesel model will have a 1.5L diesel engine under the hood. Now, it will be only the pricing that will play a crucial role in deciding the success or failure of this car as it has all the things that a compact SUV buyer look for.
