Ford Ecosport SUV launched at Beijing Motor Show
Ford Motors recently unveiled the eagerly anticipated Ford EcoSport SUV at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. Ford Ecosport SUV prototype was first revealed at the 2012 AutoExpo held in New Delhi in the month of January.Conceived on the new Ford Fiesta’s platform the EcoSport compact SUV will house a new 1.0-liter 3 cylender turbocharged new petrol powertrain. The new engine will pump out maximum power of 118PS and a peak torque of 125Nm. The diesel guise could gradually make its presence felt in the market later. Ford will manufacture the Ecosport SUV at its Chongquin plant located in China. Ford’s compact SUV eyes at filing the slot between a hatchback and a sedan, customers who look at a car with ample of space and want to upgrade to a SUV will look to buy this SUV.
Ford Ecosport comes loaded with ample of driver-assist features that includes Hill Launch Assist, rear parking sensors and power-assisted steering (EPAS.) The SUV will also come equipped with new SYNC driver connect system with voice control, apart from this other features like Smart Keyless Entry, Ford Power Start and a cooled bin in the glovebox will also make its way into the EcoSport SUV.16- inch alloy wheels will adorn the SUV.

Ford also revealed two new China bound models at the Beijing Auto Show, Ford plans to launch 15 new cars in the Chinese auto marketby 2015. These two new China bound models are Ford Kuga SUV and Ford Focus ST performance hatchback.Amongst the three new cars revealed at the ongoing Beijing Motor Show, Ford Ecosport SUV will be launched in India by the end of 2012 or in the beginning of 2013. Ford Ecosport is expected to be priced aggressively and the price tag is likely to fall in the range of Rs 7 lakh and Rs 9 lakh.
