Ford Ecosport to be available in 62 nations

Ford Ecosport, the much popular global compact SUV by American auto giant Ford Motors, is on the footprint of Ford Figo hatchback and Fiesta sedan. The company is reported to be made available the Ecosport SUV in more than 62 countries across the world by 2017. This compact SUV has made its presence in North-South America and East Asia as it has already been launched in Mexico, Brazil and China. And now, very soon it will be running on Indian roads too.

It is reported that Ford India will provide the Ecosport SUV to all these 62 countries. Thus, the company will produce both left hand drive and right hand drive model of the vehicle for Indian and other markets. After some time the export of Ecosport could go for 100 countries and in order to enhance the production, the US auto giant could set a new manufacturing plant in the US by near future. AT present, Ford company is producing this SUV in Brazil, China and India.

To overseas markets, Ford is expected to produce only petrol engine model of the vehicle while the Indian will be getting it with three engine options like 1.5L petrol, 1.5L diesel and 1.0L EcoBoost petrol. Advance bookings for the Ecosport in India at dealer level have been started. Across the country, Ford dealers are accepting the advanced bookings for the vehicle at amount of Rs 50000 while the official launch is expected 11 June 2013. In Indian domestic auto market it will compete the Renault Duster and Mahindra Scorpio.
