Ford EcoSport to be exported to UK and Europe, ready to launch in India
Just a few days after unveiling the all new 2013 Ford EcoSport model at the Geneva Motor Show, the US based car maker is now all set to showcase this SUV in the select malls across the Indian market. Besides this, the India made Ecosport will be exported to European countries and UK. It is also speculated that the same make will be introduced in the right hand drive car markets.
As per the reports, the company has pinpointed on Mantri Mall at Bangalore, where the upcoming EcoSport will be showcased 29th to 31st of March 2013. Last week, the company had rolled-out innovative Ford EcoSport Discoveries contest to promote the vehicle. A number of marketing activities to promote EcoSport in India indicate that the company is all set to launch this model in the country very soon.
According to the recent media reports, the company is looking forward to give a strong opening to this revolutionary SUV in the country by creating favorable environment among the SUV lovers. In India, Renault Duster will be a major competitor of EcoSport, which also competes with it in some foreign markets.
It is expected that both petrol and diesel versions of the EcoSport model will be launched in the Indian market simultaneously. While the petrol version will come powered by a revolutionary 1.0L Ecoboost engine, the diesel one will come loaded with a 1.5L power train. On the other hand, the 1.5 Liter Ti-VCT naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to be offered in only European markets. All variants of the SUV will come equipped with a five speed manual transmission.
Both petrol and diesel versions of the vehicle are expected to be offering a considerably high fuel economy, posing a threat to the existing segment leaders like Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Maruti Ertiga and Renault Duster. The Ford Ecosport diesel version is expected to be shelved in the price segment of Rs 8 to 10 lakh. Moreover, it has been in the headlines for quite some time, made in India EcoSport model will be exported to the foreign markets like UK and Europe.
