Ford Ecosport will be a huge success in India – Ford India
Ford’s new car – Ford Ecosport will be a ‘thunderbolt’. Certainly, it will be as it is one of the most anticipated cars of 2013. This urbane SUV as Ford calls it has a lineage of success in Brazil and other countries and it will be doing whatever it can to replicate the success in India. In fact Ford management is comparing the success of this car with that of the best selling Ford car- Ford Figo. As the Ecosport launch in India nears, tales of its success and anticipation both are on the rise. The Ford SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh and its competitors will include the hot SUV Renault Duster and the domestically designed Mahindra Quanto that has impressed the audience with its performance.
Both Duster and Quanto have made a ground for themselves but the Ecosport is said to settle fast than either of these compact SUV. The reason enumerated by experts are its looks and the 1 L petrol engine. This highly frugal engine has all that is needed and it will be imbibing performance and mileage to the car hand in hand. Apart from that that Ford Fiesta sourced diesel engine option will provide the necessary thrust to it as well as performance. It will also satiate those who wish to have a diesel heart under the hood.
While Ford is preparing the Ecosport for a launch in India, the management is too bullish about the new car. And they have every reason to be so, it seems. Already the segment is hot and the SUV will have a decent price tag as it will have high level of localization. Besides, spares will not be a problem just as it is with Figo which is almost an India specific car with lots of spares sourced from India. In addition to this the car will have decent price tag as Ford already knows that it has to compete with Duster.
