Ford hires work force to match the capacity expansion

Ford India has been recently on an expansion spree. It has just increased the capacity of one of its plant and now as per the latest reports, it has hired 135 new employees. This could be the preparation for the upcoming Ford cars including the much awaited Ford Ecosport SUV and Ford B Max MPV. Besides, Ford is expected to step up the production as the demand for diesel car is expected to touch new levels in India specially when the petrol prices are nearing their mighty figure of Rs 100 per litre.

The hiring is expected to be part of the expansion plans of the American car maker and as per the sources; the car maker will be hiring around 700 people by the end of this year. In the recent hiring, Ford has selected over 90 management personnel and half the number of engineering staff. Over 25 of the engineers are said to have their posting at the Sanand plant where they will be engaged in the production of Ford Fiesta sedan while the others will be absorbed at the Chennai plant. Notably, Ford is among the companies that has the lowest attrition rate and by giving conducive growth opportunities to the employees, the car maker retains them for long.

As per the information, Ford’s expansion process – first the plant capacity to the tune of Rs 4000 crore and then the manpower increase all indicate Ford’s trust in the Indian market and the prospects in it. Meanwhile, amidst all the expansion process, all eyes are on Ford Ecosport SUV that the car maker is expected to launch this year end or early next year as well as other cars including the B Max and Ford C Max MPV. Furthermore, the car maker will be stepping up the capacity of the production of the existing cars such as Ford Figo, Ford Endeavour and Ford Fiesta sedan.
