Ford to drop Figo tag from Aspire now to be sold as Ford Aspire
Grapevine is that U.S. based car maker Ford is going to drop the Figo tag from its compact sedan Aspire under its new marketing strategy. Now the compact sedan is reported to be sold as Ford Aspire in Indian car market. According to sources of company the Figo moniker was used by company to monetize the popularity of Figo while launching its new compact sedan. It is speculated that dropping Figo from Aspire is not going to make any significant impact on the sales of compact sedan, but could help company in selling two vehicles of different segments with two different names.

Offered in both petrol and diesel disguises with two engine options of 1.2 litre Ti-VCT and 1.5 litre Ti-VCt in petrol variant mated with five speed manual transmission system and six speed dual clutch transmission system respectively, and 1.5 litre TDCi in diesel variant with five speed manual gearbox system. It is offered in overall eight variants.
