General Motors and SAIC plans to move forward with launch of Chinese cars in India

The class leading auto makers worldwide are aware about the current potential and forth coming prosperous years of Indian auto industry. As a result, the global auto companies are trying to provide their level best to Indian car consumers. The USA based auto giant in India; General Motors (GM) and China based Shanghai Automotive Industries Corporation (SAIC) has intended to launch five new automobiles in India in next six months.

January 2012 will witness the debut of one out of the five vehicles. In the following months the remaining four will be introduced. This decision was taken at the GM’s board meeting held in China.

Apart from the passenger vehicles the firm will also roll out an LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle), the two companies will be jointly focusing on business and growth opportunities in India, as stated by the President and Managing Director of General Motors in India, Mr. Karl Slym. He further added that the plan of launching five vehicles in the country has been viable by the collective efforts of both companies.

The American multinational automotive corporation; General Motors made its debut in India and China in the year 1990. In China, the German marquee Volkswagen leads the auto sector followed by GM at number two.

General Motors has many divisions of comprising of different brands; one of the famous in India is Chevrolet brand which retails Spark, Captiva, Cruze and Optra magnum to name some.

Under the Chevrolet brand the company is also planning to launch an electric powered vehicle globally in the form its small car Spark.

As we all know that GM has to make sure that the cars coming here with their brands are upto the quality otherwise their cars will also suffer big time here. but it is a good omen....

I don't think that Chinese cars will get good response in India but everything can be possible. We have to wait till these cars will launch in India.
