Generation Next Maruti Suzuki Alto Caught Under Test Drive
After the successful launch of generation next Wagon R hatchback in the Indian car market, country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India has started making plans for launching the generation next Alto hatchback. According to the recent reports the spies have recently captured the first image of the same being tested on the Indian roads. On the basis of the reports received from spies, the new Alto carries the same glimpse of Concept Future-S, that was showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2018. The new Alto will go against the likes of Renault Kwid.
Mechanically, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 2020 is reported to be offered with existing 1.0 litre K Series petrol engine that boosts the power of 67 bhp and the torque of 90Nm. The new Alto is reported to compatible to BS 6 standards and will be mated with five-speed manual gear transmission system followed by the option of AMT transmission system. It is also rumored that the Indo-Japanese carmaker might introduce the option of 1.2 litre K Series engine, as it offered in the facelift Wagon R.
Developed on the new HEARTECT platform the new Alto is speculated to be embellished with a bunch of new cosmetic and safety features. Talking about its appearance, the new Alto seems to be taller than its outgoing version and gives the feel of a SUV. As according to the spies, the new Alto had faux skid plates and black cladding placed across the lower half of the model. On the safety front, it is believed to be offered with ABS, driver side airbag, rear parking sensors, high-speed warning, and seatbelt reminder. The other updates regarding the new Alto are believed to be revealed soon by the company.
