Hyundai and Renault to roll out their upcoming vehicles with AMT system
According to industry reports it is rumored that Korean car maker Hyundai Motors and French car maker Renault are going to equip their upcoming products with AMT system in the coming months in Indian car market. The automated manual transmission system would be imported from German maker ZF Sacha rather than Italian maker Magneti Marelli who is supplying AMT system to MSIL and Tata Motors. It is reported that Grand i10 would be the first car in the portfolio of Korean car maker that would be rolled out with AMT system whereas French car maker will roll out one more variant in its best selling SUV Duster which would be named as XBA. The existing variants of Grand i10 are empowered with 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine that will boost the power of 83 PS and torque of 116 Nm and diesel trim energized with 1.1 litre three cylinder U2 VGT engine generating the power of 71 PS and torque of 163. Company has not revealed that which variant would be equipped with AMT system.
Moving towards the Renault XBA it is speculated to be known as Kayou would be offered with 800 cc petrol engine and is anticipated to be launched in Indian car market on May 20, 2015. The upcoming product would be the first offering from French car maker that would be offered with AMT system. Prior both these manufacturers’ two more Indian car makers MSIL and Tata Motors are offering their vehicles with AMT system.
