Hyundai Creta Family To Receive A New Member
It is rumored that the Hyundai Motors India Limited the Indian alliance of Korean car maker Hyundai Motors is going to introduce EX variant in the line-up of its best selling compact SUV Creta and replace the existing E+ trim in both the petrol and diesel variants. The new proposed variant is reported to receive a bunch of new features that will facilitate the passengers to enjoy the comfortable traveling experience. Some of the highlighted features will include reverse parking camera, armrest for the rear passengers with cup holder, and also the adjustable headrest for the rear seat passengers. On the exterior front it is believed to be offered with frong fog lamps followed daytime running lights.

Under the hood, the EX variant will be continued with the existing engine configurations of 1.4 litre diesel, 1.6 litre diesel and 1.6 litre petrol engine configurations followed by the existing option of six-speed manual and six-speed automatic system in both the variants. However, as far as the integration of new features is concerned, it would be interesting to know that apart from above-mentioned features, the diesel EX variant will be offered the additional features like map light with sunglasses holder, 5.0 inch touchscreen audio system, steering mounted audio controls and a USB socket for phone charging.
It is believed that along with replacing the E+ trim, the company might also phase out the Creta S Automatic from the diesel variant and continue the automatic transmission system only in SX trim. According to the recent reports the company also has the concept of new Creta in the pipeline for launch in 2020. The new Creta will be offered with two seating options of five seats and seven seats, and will be developed according to BS VI emission norms.
The first generation of Creta was launched back in 2015 and was awarded as the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2016. Till now the company has sold out 5 lakh units of compact SUV out of which 3.70 lakh units have been sold in the Indian car market and about 1.40 units shipped in the International car market.
