Hyundai Elite i20 Crossover spied again, some details anticipated
Since the successful launch of Hyundai Elite i20 by Korean car maker Hyundai Motors in Indian car marker there have been rumors regarding launch of its crossover version. Moreover the rumors got strengthened with spies witnessing the camouflaged version of crossover being tested on Indian roads at several occasions.This time again spies have witnessed the crossover being tested on roads and have succeeded in getting some clues about the crossover.
As reported earlier the crossover is developed on the same platform as used in its sibling Elite i20 hatchback and therefore carries most of its features from it. To begin with the similarities that would be noticed would engine configurations in both petrol and diesel trims. The petrol version would be empowered with 1.2 litre petrol engine generating the power of 83 PS and torque of 114 Nm, while the diesel variant will boost 1.4 litre CRDi diesel engine that will churn the power of 90 PS and torque of 220Nm. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 8 lakh only.
Other common features that would be carried from Elite i20 hatchback are side body cladding, plastic cladding, roof rails and few more. The features that will differentiate from its sibling would be newly developed front portion, new projector headlight along with LED DRLs and huge fleet of various other features. After launch the crossover would compete against Volkswagen Polo Cross, recently launched Fiat Avventura, and Etios Cross from Toyota.
