Hyundai Eon all set to compete with Maruti Alto
Finally, Hyundai is all set to enter the entry level small car segment in India. Hyundai is soon going to launch its much awaited small car called Eon. The South Korean automobile company is eyeing the huge possibilities in the small car market in India. Hyundai Eon will be put in competition against Maruti Alto. Hyundai Eon will be launched in mid-October. It will be priced in the range of Rs. 2.50- Rs. 2.60 Lacs.
Maruti Alto, which is at present the highest selling car in the entry level small car segment, will face stiff competition from Hyundai Eon. Eon is expected to have an edge over Maruti Alto, because it is loaded with high tech features.

Hyundai Eon is based on the Fluidic design as Hyundai Verna. Since its launch earlier this year, Verna has been giving tough competition to Honda City and Volkswagen Vento. Hyundai Eon will be powered by a 814cc engine which will deliver mileage of 21.1 kmpl. It will be same as Alto in length, but it will be wider and taller than its competitor. Plus, it will be high on style and technology.
According to Hyundai India's Sales and Marketing Director Arvind Saxena, Hyundai Eon will have no competitor in the market. It will be very spacious and with a large trunk. And above all Eon doesn't compromise on styling.
Hyundai Eon will be priced slightly lesser than its other hatchback Santro. However, Hyundai has no plans of discontinuing Santro, which according to them is doing well in the Indian market.
