Hyundai Grand i10 sedan to be globally launched during Indian Auto Expo 2014
With Indian Auto Expo 2014 just standing next door and everyone associated with event whether it is organizers, participating auto companies or media busy in giving final shape to their last moment preparations for making this event a remarkable event. According to reports apart from showcasing the facelifts and new variants of existing models, there will be about 15 new vehicles which will be globally launched during the event by major car makers. Thus, making the series of functions wider and interesting. The new member to join the list of 15 new vehicles that will be globally launched during the event is Hyundai Grand i10 sedan from Korean car maker, Hyundai Motors.
The highly publicized sedan grand i10 will be introduced in both petrol and diesel variant wherein both the variants will be equipped with same engine configurations as prevailing in the existing model of grand i10 hatchback. Which means that the petrol variant will continue the same 1.2 litre engine churning the power of 82 bhp and torque of 114 Nm, whereas the diesel variant will be boosted with 1.1 litre, 4 cylinder engine zooming the power of 70 bhp and torque of 160 Nm. According to reports engines of both variants will be coated with five speed manual transmission system, followed by the petrol variant to be blessed with 4 speed automatic gearbox.
It would be interested to learn that where at one point Indian Auto Expo only couple of weeks ahead, the car maker is still conducting test drives of the expected sedan on roads. The upcoming sedan is speculated to compete against both dominating Maruti Swift Dzire, and Honda Amaze sedans in segment. Apart from this, the South Korean company will also unveil Santa Fe and WRC car based on i20 platform during the show.
