Hyundai India get new Marketing Head, Rakesh Srivastava replaces Arvind Saxena

Hyundai India seems to be preparing for a big show for the Hyundai Elantra launch. Where the foundation has been laid by the outgoing Director Marketing and Sales Arvind Saxena, the final touches will be given by Mr Rakesh Srivastava who replaces Saxena. Srivastava was with Maruti India earlier after he joined Hyundai as Vice President National Sales at Hyundai Motor India Ltd in April this year. Now, he will also be heading the Marketing wing and will be handling all the tasks that Saxena used to do. Industry experts believe that accession of Srivastava to the new position will boost Hyundai’s marketing operations in the country and the experience and know how that he gathered when he was in Maruti will be put to a greater use in Hyundai.

Mr Srivastava will take the charge on July 27 (tomorrow). Whereas Saxena has not yet joined anywhere but insiders believe that he will soon be joining Maruti India or Volkswagen. However, no exact details are yet out and it is a mere guesswork presently. Meanwhile, the joining of Srivastava is seen as a big change in Hyundai and it is believed that his experience in Maruti India will be benefitting a lot the marketing operations of the Korean car maker. Srivastava is an IIM-A alumni member and is in service for the last 24 years and has been with some of well known brands such as Nerolac Paints, GTC Industries and others.

Amidst this change, Hyundai India is gearing for a big launch of its Rs 12 lakh sedan Hyundai Elantra that will be positioned above the Hyundai Verna and will be creating sensation in the market with its reentry. Meanwhile, the Elantra teaser is getting popular in which Hyundai has shown how certain things can be converted to a purpose and that has been termed as innovation. Certainly the Hyundai maxim new thinking new possibilities has its avatar in the form of the Elantra. The booking for the car are already open and it is expected to be launched next month.

The 1.8 litre petrol engine and 1.6 litre diesel engine looks promising, also the Hyundai Elantra price is likely to range between Rs 13 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs.
