Hyundai plans bumper Diwali, Elantra launch almost confirmed
Where Maruti and other car makers have planned a hectic schedule this year, Hyundai is not less busy indeed. New Hyundai i20, then Sonata, Santa Fe and now there are reports that it will commence production of Hyundai Elantra sedan, the expected Rs 13 lakh sedan will be taking on Honda Civic, Ford Fiesta besides others in the Indian car market. This will be the second innings for the Elantra in India and is expected to be quite promising this time. The Elantra is already in sale in other parts of the world as Avante and is expected to be launched sometime this year.

It seems that by producing Elantra in August, Hyundai will be getting it ready by the festive season when there will be maximum number of launches as well as buying will be happening in India. The Elantra sedan will be placed just above the Hyundai Verna. On the other hand, Hyundai has high expectations with the Elantra and wants it to repeat what Verna did to the Korean company – high sales. However, Elantra will slip in well in the segment as the Honda Civic which will be its prime rival lacks the diesel options and thus it is the Elantra diesel that will take it forward in the Indian car market.

Already unveiled at the January Auto Expo held in New Delhi, the Elantra will be available in petrol and diesel engine options. The Hyundai Elantra diesel will come with the 1.8 VTVT engine as well in 1.6 CRDi models. Lately, the Hyundai sedan was spotted testing in some of the parts of the country and now that the reports almost confirm its production to begin in August, it is certain that other car makers such as Honda and Maruti must have started gearing up for some show off.

I am Waiting for Hyundai Elentra.

With Hyundai Elantra, Korean carmaker is all prepared for a big boom this Diwali.

The exterior looks are awesome with sleek cuts. Hyundai Elantra seems to be a luxurious car.

Nice car, alright but is more than a year old! Hyundai should at-lease offer the Indian version with a more advanced engine. Say for eg their new 1.6 liter turbo direct injection TGDI petrol engine producing 160 HP. Working alongside technology that engages battery recharging alternator only during engine braking. Electric power steering motor, maybe it already has. Electric AC compressor would be nice too ;)
