Hyundai Shelves S Trim From Creta’s Petrol Variant
According to recent industry reports country’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motors India Limited has silently dismissed S trim from petrol family of its compact SUV Creta and now the petrol variant of this best selling initiative is available in five trims namely E, E+, SX+, SX+AT, SX+ Special Edition. Industry experts believe that the reason behind dismissal of S trim is due to launch of E+ trim in petrol variant followed by the Anniversary Edition of Creta. The new price range of petrol variant now starts from Rs. 9.15 lakh for base variant and ends with price tag of Rs. 12.86 for top end variant.

Launched last year in Indian car market the first ever compact SUV from Korean car maker succeed in receiving an encouraging response from all segments of car enthusiasts throughout the country. The petrol variant of this compact SUV is empowered with 1.6 litre VTVT engine boosting the power of 121 bhp and torque of 151Nm. The diesel variant is offered with two engine options of 1.4 litre CRDi and 1.6 litre U2 CRDi engines with former generates the power of 89 bhp and torque of 220Nm, while the later boosts the power of 126 bhp and torque of 259Nm. The transmission system includes both six speed manual and six speed automatic transmission system.

The success of Hyundai Creta can be witnessed from the fact that within the span of eight months after its launch the SUV received more than 1 lakh bookings. The SUV has been honored with the title of “Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2016 and now the company is soon going to touch the mark of 1 lakh units sold in Indian car market, as according to sales statistics revealed by company it has sold out 94, 474 units in Indian car market and 33, 524 units in International market.
