Hyundai Terminates the Production of i10

Finally the successful journey of nine years by Hyundai i10 has come to an end after its production has been discontinued by Korean car maker in Indian car market. It was back in 2007 when the hatchback made its debut in India and become the heartthrob of car enthusiasts. According to reports the last unit of i10 rolled out from market was black color model. The car maker has phased out its one time favorite hatchback to make the way for new Santro, which is reported to be under production phase.

It is believed that despite of witnessing substantial number of sales, the i10 had to face competition from internal sources in form of Grand i10, that was introduced by car maker three years back in 2013. Empowered with 1.1 litre, Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine (IRDE) engine with displacement capacity of 1086 cc, boosting the power of 68 bhp and torque of 99 at 5500 rpm and 2500 rpm respectively and engine mated with manual transmission gearbox. The i10 was also offered in LPG variant.
 
The major features adorned in outgoing Hyundai i10 comprised of foldable key, air conditioner with heater, 2 DIN Radio+CD+MP3 Audio, keyless entry and front and rear power window. Apart from new Santro which is believed to be empowered with either 800 cc or 1.0 litre engine, Hyundai Motors India Limited the Indian arm of Korean car maker is also planning to launch the facelift version of Grand i10 sometimes during the early months of next year, which would be its mid-life facelift and will embellish new design philosophy which was unveiled during the month of August this year for European car market. Along with these launches the facelift version of Xcent which is considered as the sedan version of Grand i10 is also in the pipeline of company for 2017.
