Hyundai to Bring Automatic Version of Elite i20
It is rumored that the South Korean carmaker is planning to launch an automatic version of its best selling hatchback Hyundai Elite i20 in India. Elite i20 was propelled in August 2014 with world class features and had received a positive response from the customers, and within a short time of its launch it managed to get a place in top 10 best selling cars in India. The top selling hatchback has also been awarded with the ICOTY 2015 Award. Considering the popularity of i20 in count Hyundai is preparing to launch i20 Active variant with same engine configuration mated with automatic transmission later this year.

The hatchback is available in both petrol and diesel trims with 1.2-liter petrol engine, generating the power of 83 bhp and torque of 114 NM whereas diesel engine with 1.4-liter churns the power of 89 bhp and torque of 220 NM. The car maker has also updated the Elite i20 with Touch Screen Infotainment System while celebrating the first anniversary of the car.
Hyundai i20 Elite variant will compete against the likes of newly launch premium hatchbacks from Maruti Suzuki and Honda, namely Suzuki Baleno and new Honda Jazz, respectively which comes equipped with a CVT gearbox in the petrol trim. According to the reports Hyundai will launch an Elite i20 variant with four speed automatic transmission.
