Jeep cars launch confirmed in India, Wrangler and Cherokee coming by 2013

Fiat Motors has big plans to make its position strong in the Indian car market. The company will be launching about 9 new models in India in next 3-4 years and Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler are confirmed to hit the Indian shores next year. Besides Jeep and Wrangler, Fiat will also bring in the racing car brand called Fiat 500 Abarth to India next year. The list does not end here, the company will launch Fiat Linea and Fiat Punto updates every year till 2016.

Coming back to Jeep, it will be a fully covered SUV that would dive from B to the E segment in the Indian car bazaar. When brought into India, the distribution of the car will be completely managed by Fiat. However, for the starting this one will be available in the main metropolitan cities only.

With these nine models, the firm will be aiming towards the B and C segment of the Indian car market. Apparently, the Jeep Cherokee SUV will come with a 3.0 litre of turbo diesel engine in V6 layout. This engine will give out peak power output of 237BHP along maximum torque of 550Nm. being coupled with eight speed automatic gearbox will take the performance of the car to a whole new level. So something awesome on road could be expected from Cherokee.

Talking about the other Jeep SUV, Wrangler will also be rolled out with a dynamic diesel engine. The fresh reports in the market suggest that the car will have 2.8 litre turbo diesel engine under the hood producing maximum power of 200BHP along with 450Nm of maximum torque. Here the engine will mated with five speed automatic gearbox.

Also, Jeep might bring in 2 new compact SUVs to the Indian car market in 2015-16. Therefore, it seems like Fiat will be making Jeep brand, one of the best SUV offering carmaker in India.

Fiat has announced to launch a complete revamp model of Fiat Grande Punto in 2014 that will be upgraded later in 2015 and 2016. Besides this, Fiat Linea will be replaced by Linea Classic, just as Ford Fiesta becomes Ford Classic, next year and this too will be transformed in all new Fiat Linea in 2014. A new Fiat Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and Fiat Abarth are also in the pipeline.
