In India, Mahindra and Mahindra has always been one of the most flourishing carmakers. And as far as advanced technology is concerned, the automaker has made sure to make its vehicles advanced and technologically sound. Previously as well, Mahindra installed the start-stop technology in many of its Indian models. The major reason behind using this Micro Hybrid technology is that it cuts down the fuel consumption to a large extent and also chops-up the CO2 emissions. What is interesting is that the system here works by disconnecting the engine when car is stagnant for a certain amount of time and the engine restarts when the driver pushes the accelerator pedal.

On the whole, the South African Mahindra XUV 500 crossover getting the start-stop technology is excellent. The engine specs of the car are also impressive there. The car has been powered by 2.2 litre of turbo diesel engine that produces peak power of 140BHP and 330Nm of maximum torque. The six- speed manual transmission mated with the engine does the trick here and helps making the car a power-packed performer on road. The all wheel drive system present in the SA specific XUV 500 is the bonus here that enhances the overall performance of the car.
