Mahindra XUV500 to be equipped with Hybrid engine, will be unveiled during Indian Auto Expo
The domestic car making company Mahindra and Mahindra is going to offer Hybrid technology in its highly liked SUV, Mahindra XUV 500 and unveil the same in the upcoming Indian auto expo 2014. This initiative from company is an indication that it is involved in production of eco friendly vehicles to its potential customers. According to sources the upcoming hybrid version of XUV500 will be based on its sibling Reva. Apart from this it is also reported that the home grown auto company is also working on developing new vehicles in joint collaboration with Ssangyong. It is speculated that the existing diesel engine of XUV500 can be paralleled with electronic motor. With introduction of hybrid SUV, XUV 500 will be country’s first SUV that will be equipped with hybrid engine.
It is reported that integration of manual transmission system in its diesel and electronic vehicles M&M is working German company ZF. It would be interested to know that apart from Hybrid XUV 500 company’s automatic manual transmission vehicles namely Verito Electric, Formula E car and Ssangyong Korando are also in pipeline of company’s list that will be showcased during auto expo.
