Maruti car discounts – from Rs 12k to Rs 70k on petrol, select diesel car models
It seems monsoon has arrived ahead of its schedule in entire India. It is not Varuna indeed that has brought it. It is Maruti India that has showered loads of never before discounts on its cars in India, majority of them are petrol cars. Now buying a Maruti 800 is Rs 19,000 cheaper while the Maruti Alto K10 has a discount in price of Rs 50,000. Significantly, due to the present petrol price rise, it is Maruti India that is worst affected besides Honda India and the discounts seem to be a damage control mechanism. Anyhow, it is time for the car buyers to go on car shopping spree. But, watch out, the petrol price could rise further.

Discounts from Rs 12,000 on Maruti Omni to as high as Rs 70,000 on Maruti SX4 models have been offered. However, Maruti has exempted Maruti Ertiga, Maruti Gypsy, Maruti Kizashi and Maruti Grand Vitara from the discounts. Whereas most of the discounts are on petrol models of the cars, some like Maruti Ritz Diesel and Maruti SX4 diesel are also offered at a discount of Rs 20,000 and Rs 70,000 respectively. Except the Maruti Alto, all the models that are being offered with discounts are low volume models. Experts believe that if such discounts could have been on the diesel variants of Maruti Swift, there would have been a bumper sale. Discount on Maruti Swift Dzire could not be confirmed. However, almost all the discounted Maruti cars models are petrol, CNG and LPG ones and thus as per the initial assumption, there would be significant impact of the discounts.
