Maruti Ertiga has all to be the best car launch this year
Car sales has bounced back in India, thanks to the uncertainty regarding tax on diesel cars and other factors. Almost every car maker has registered growth – less or high. Maruti sales too improved with the fair weather in the Indian car market after a long spell of meek results month by month. Now that there is favourable times and things are in the process of a positive change further. Many car makers have laid down a hectic schedule for themselves. Where Mahindra will be launching five cars, Ford eight cars(two this year), the homegrown car maker Maruti has laid decent plans for the launch of Maruti Ertiga MPV and Maruti XA Alpha SUV. En route there would be many more launches that will keep abuzz the Indian car market.

Prominent among all these will be Maruti Ertiga that will be compelling the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Chevrolet Tavera to rehash. However, Innova, Xylo and Tavera already have received new looks in the recent past. The Maruti Ertiga is expected to be launched in India in March this year at a price tag of Rs 6-8 lakh. At this price, the new Maruti MPV will be able to give an entry level option to the MPV buyers in India and hence will fill the void in the entry level MPV segment. Hoped to be launched in petrol and diesel options, the Ertiga, according to critics will be a brisk seller and will show a lot of activity on the sales chart. Only Mahindra Xylo Mini that is expected this Diwali could check its popularity.
The Ertiga will be powered by 1.2L petrol and the diesel option will have a 1.3L engine under the hood. The diesel engine will be the 1.3L multijet engine that Maruti will source from Fiat with which it had entered into a contract for the supply of 1 lakh engines every year.
