Maruti Ertiga inspired Mazda VX1 bookings commence
Mazda, the Japanese car maker is said to have started taking bookings for its Maruti Ertiga lookalike car Mazda VX1 in Indonesia. As per reports, the car is customized to the needs of Indonesia and is a rebadged avatar of the Maruti Ertiga. Launching the car in Indonesia means that the car maker is all set to set afire the volume segment as MPVs in Indonesia are a great hit. The price of the Mazda VX-1 is still unknown but it is highly anticipated that the car maker will be pricing the car quite attractively as it already has a rival of its own kind – Maruti Ertiga. Meanwhile reports are also in that Ertiga and its junior Maruti Ritz will get their automatic variants sometime in May-June this year in Indonesia.
In India, one the other hand, the Ertiga is giving some of the toughest time to erstwhile segment leader Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and has bagged the title of one of the best selling MPVs in India. It is following exceptional Ertiga sales that the car maker is able to witness overwhelming sales growth in the utility car segment. But experts believe that with Hyundai and other car makers planning to pitch in an Ertiga rival in the segment, soon very soon the dominance of this car will be over.
As per the sources information, the Ertiga remake is almost like the Ertiga that is sold in Indonesia and features high resemblance to it apart from some design cues to make it look like a Mazda car. The design changes include a new front that includes a new grille while the headlamps have been copied from the original make. The new Mazda MPV is also believed to have the same petrol engine option with which the car is sold in India. The new Mazda car is all set for a launch now as the company has started taking orders and it will not delay it and ruin its chances of remaining the last in the segment.
