Maruti Ertiga launched in Indonesia, Maruti expects to sell 50k Ertiga’s annually

Maruti Ertiga – The car that is creating history, in fact repeating history for Maruti India has also been launched in Indonesia. The Maruti MPV that was launched on April 12th has just drive past 15,000 + booking in less than ten days of its launch. After India, Maruti claims Indonesia as the second success destination for the new car. At a starting price of Rs 5.89 lakh for the petrol model and Rs 7.31 lakh for the diesel version, the Maruti Ertiga has proved that it is a best buy for those Indians who are looking for a car bigger than a sedan. It is the Maruti Ertiga price that has proved it to be a success story in India and it is expected to repeat the same in Indonesia as well.

Meanwhile, experts have expressed their concern that if Maruti focuses only on new markets and ignores the supply chain and if the waiting time for Ertiga goes high, the initial hype for the car will subside soon. However, on the other hand Maruti has planned the Ertiga launch so well that dealers were able to deliver the Maruti MPV on the first day of its launch.

Indonesia is the second market that Ertiga has been launched into and Maruti is expected India-like response from Indonesia as well as people movers are in craze in there. As per reports, close to 60 percent of the total cars sold in Indonesia are MPVs. Alike India, Maruti lacked any strong offering in the MPV segment in Indonesia and thus filling this vacuum, it expects to sell around 50,000 Ertiga’s in the first year. In India, Maruti initially expected Ertiga sales to go over 5000 units per month but the strong craze for this car seem to have forced Maruti to redraw the expected sales chart.
