Maruti Ertiga price hike on the cards!

The better comes at a hefty price for sure and it could be true to Maruti Ertiga as well. After the introductory boom created by Maruti India by pricing the Ertiga entry level variant at Rs 5.89 lakh, the car maker could increase the price of the car by around Rs 15,000 in the next few months. Though the increase in the price will have a least effect on the sales as mere Rs 10k -15k does not matter if one is spending Rs 6 lakh on a car that is by the most trusted brand Maruti. Besides it will not impact sales as the Ertiga will still be affordable that other similar offering such as Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo or Chevrolet Tavera Neo3.

Ertiga certainly took the market by storm and has repeated the history created by Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire. It has definitely shaken the turf enjoyed by big MPVs such as Toyota Innova, Tavera and Xylo. However, much smaller in proportions than the trio, the Ertiga clicked and went well with over 32,000 booking in just over a month of its launch. Now that Maruti has decided Ertiga price rise, it is expected that the MPV a little impact on bookings. Meanwhile, the rising waiting period of Ertiga is a big worry for the car maker as it rises further; it will mean a great impact on further bookings.

Auto industry experts also believe that the Ertiga sales will not be impacted by a slight price rise but the rising waiting period is a big question mark on the prospects of the car. Meanwhile, two of its prime rivals – Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia are already on their way to India. These two MPVs are expected to take on Ertiga and there are high chances that these would do well.
