Maruti Ertiga rival, Fiat 500XL spied, premier at Paris Motor Show
Fiat India is about to get into the top gear as far as the car launches and introducing new products is concerned. The car maker has already severed its ties with the Indian car maker Tata Motors and now the Italian car giant is opening showrooms, service centres on its own. Sensing the MPV market to pick up in India, Fiat could launch the Fiat 500XL in the country. A test mule of the same has been spotted recently and this confirms that the Fiat 500 L based MPV will be competing with Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy by then besides other big players in the segment. The 500XL price is unknown but in all probability if it is to compete with Ertiga and others it will be priced somewhere near Rs 7 lakh.

Notably, Fiat is already testing a Fiat 500 L based crossover named Fiat 500X and in all probability it will be giving a tough time to the Renault Duster and the upcoming Ford Ecosport. Meanwhile, the entry of the new crossover will be startling the segment with enthusiasm and it will eat a lot of market of over priced SUVs such as the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV 500. It is a fact that people look for size and seating capacity and mistake SUVs for MPVs. Thus real off roading cars are seldom cherished for their get into dirt nature and are often used as people movers in the country.

The addition of the Fiat 500X Crossover and Fiat 500XL MPV will be inflating the Fiat cars in India as the car maker is trying to sustain with only two offerings – Fiat Linea sedan and Fiat Grand Punto. Where the 500 XL will be a seven seater, the 500X crossover could be a five seater only just like the Duster. It is longer than its parent and it could be premiered at the upcoming Paris Motor Show starting on September 29.
