Maruti RIII MUV likely to debut by this year end
The Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki, which has a strong hold in the small car segment, is all set to debut in a new crossover segment by the end of this year. The unconfirmed media reports claim that that company is all set to roll-out its long awaited and much talked about R3 multi utility vehicle in the Indian market by the end of this year. The launch of new Maruti RIII is expected very near considering the recent incidents of car spotted testing on Indian roads.
The Maruti R3 is basically a five door crossover that has been developed after taking into consideration the needs and requirements of the Indian buyers. The Maruti R3 concept was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2010 and since then it has been awaited by car enthusiasts in the country.
The latest spy shots of the car published on a number of automotive blogs shows a clear front profile of a white color R3 model. While the front profile of the car look somewhat similar to its hatchback sibling Ritz, the side profile shows similarities to the Wagon R model. The vehicle look smaller as compared to Innova and carries somewhat similar wheel arch as available in Maruti Swift model.
The RIII model is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 7 to 8 lakh where it will be taking on with the likes of Mahindra Xylo, Tata Sumo, Mahindra Bolero and Toyota Innova. The company, however, is yet to make an official statement regarding the timeline of launch of this car in the Indian market.
