Maruti Suzuki New Car (KWID Rival) to be Developed in India
Maruti Suzuki, the Indo-Japanese car maker launched many cars in India in every segment to rule on the hearts of Indian car buyers. The company recently launched the Ignis and upgraded version of the Dzire in the compact car segment that are loaded with advanced technologies and latest features, which attracted the car lovers. In results, Maruti Suzuki recorded the 20.6% hike in its sales of July 2017.
From the launch of Renault KWID, Indian people are looking for the small car segment that's why, Maruti Suzuki decided to bring a new compact car to beat the KWID. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director of Maruti Suzuki said, “Our next car should be developed in India by Indian engineers”. The company is setting up their Research & Development center in Rohtak that will play a great role in the development of their next product.
There is still no words from the Maruti Suzuki about its next car, but it will be A-segment product, which will be based on the Suzuki Crosshiker concept that was displayed at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. However, it is unlikely to be the generation-next Alto and Wagon R, as these are already under the production. It is expected that if this new car will hit the Indian roads by 2022 if the project starts immediately.
