Maruti Suzuki S-Cross begins its journey in India, priced Rs. 8.34 lakh (ex-showroom price)
As promised leading car maker MSIL has launched S-Cross in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 8.34 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for base variant followed by top end variant priced Rs. 13.74 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). At present Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has been offered only in diesel variant with two engine options and over all in passionate five colors. In Indian car market S-Cross would be sale out through Indo-Japanese showrooms known as Nexa, especially established for S-Cross.
The two diesel engine options that are configured in S-Cross are 1.3 litre diesel engine also referred as DDiS 200 and 1.6 litre diesel engine referred as DDiS 320 with both engine churning the power of 90 bhp and torque of 200 Nm and 120 bhp and 320 Nm respectively. The former engine configuration is offered with five speed manual gear transmission system while the later with six speed manual transmission system. These engines are said to deliver fuel efficient performance of 22.07 kmpl and 23.65 kmpl.

As far as looks of S-Cross are concerned it is similar to one that is launched in European car market. The front fascia on exterior portion receives twin slat chrome grille along with broad projector lamps and LED daytime running lamps. Moving inside the cabin you will find same treatment as offered in other products by Japanese car maker, but still as it is the first ever by company it has been enriched with some standard features that are offered in top end variant. To name few are, climate control, digital information system, touchscreen infotainment system and steering mounted audio controls. The launch of new S-Cross is expected to further enhance the tough competition in segment which already has got fired with recent launch of Creta by Korean car maker Hyundai Motors placing tough competition against Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster.
